Tales from the Sun

okay, well really this is just a spot for me to ramble on about random topics

I took a few days off this week to take care of a some "female" issues; that procedure went extremely well. However, on my way home from that doctor, one of my wisdom teeth cracked. Granted, I was supposed to have them all removed in a couple of months, after consulting with the dentist he felt it was best that I get them all removed immediately. So much for taking a couple days off to rest.

So Thursday morning, Amanda and I drove back down to Boston and I had all four wisdom teeth removed. Three of them were out within seconds... the fourth, was impacted and therefore he had to do some slicing and dicing. Of course, I didn't feel much. I was under the pleasantries of valium and a steady stream of nitrous oxide. The doc asked me if I would be watching any TV while I was home, he mentioned some random shows and I blurted... of course, not, I will be watching, Queer as Folk. He laughed and chuckled, and told the nurse that I must be a "party girl". And that comment led me into an even more pleasant nitrous journey.

As the light fog began to lift, I could instantly feel why they gave me so much novacaine. OUCH. And I'm still in pain. I'm not sure who thought vicodin actually supresseses pain, but apparently I'm immune to it. Oh, and just so you know, I got to take all four teeth home (just don't tell O.S.H.A). They are HUGE!!!

I'm now only swelling on the right side, but it comes and goes. I'm finally on to some slightly solid food - mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, etc. I'm hoping that I will at least be able to eat some of the Easter dinner I will be preparing tomorrow for Amanda and my father. Or perhaps I will have to resort to the carrot & ginger soup Amanda bought me.
